A restorative groom for cats with tangled or matted coats. Choose this service if you wish to keep your cat in their full-length coat. De-matting is appropriate when tangles or mats are light to moderate and limited to isolated areas. When matting or pelting is heavier or more widespread, a Mercy Groom is the proper service to fully and safely restore the coat. At the start of each appointment, a short consultation is held to review the coat’s condition and answer any questions or concerns before grooming begins.

Our gentle cat de-matting process is designed to remove knots safely without causing pain or stress. Every groom is handled one-on-one with patience, compassion, and an understanding of feline behavior to keep cats calm and comfortable throughout. If a cat shows any sign of distress, breaks are given as needed to ensure their safety and emotional well-being. Cats are never pinned down or rushed through the process — each groom is guided by the cat’s comfort level. This careful approach builds trust and helps cats feel secure in our care.
All grooms at Catington Cat Grooming are fully inclusive — nails, ears, a bath with two shampoos to lift oils and buildup, stud-tail treatment, gentle blow-dry, sanitary shave, paw-pad shave, and light trimming of pant legs or chest fur if desired. Only flea treatments incur an additional fee.
