This trim keeps coats short to reduce shedding, prevent hairballs, support better hygiene, help large or senior cats who struggle to groom themselves, and keep your cat cool and comfortable. For cats with light matting, a Matted Lion Cut provides a full shave while safely removing minor to moderate mats. When matting is severe or widespread, a Mercy Groom is required to fully de-matt or remove pelts. At the start of each appointment, a short consultation is held to review the coat’s condition and answer any questions or concerns before grooming begins.

Our Lion Cut service delivers a clean, even finish that reflects advanced skill in cat grooming. Each groom is shaped for smooth lines and a balanced look. During the consultation, clients can choose where they’d like the mane line set and whether they prefer a full tail or pom tail. Legs are never shaved past the elbow line to protect the leg whiskers that support a cat’s balance and awareness — a detail known to trained feline specialists.
All grooms at Catington Cat Grooming are fully inclusive — nails, ears, a bath with two shampoos to lift oils and dander, stud tail treatment, gentle blow-dry, sanitary shave, paw-pad shave, and light trimming of pant legs or chest fur if desired. Only flea treatments incur an additional fee.
