Kitten Clip
A softer alternative to the sharp, sculpted Lion Cut groom, the Kitten Clip—also known as the Teddy Bear Clip—leaves more length for a rounded, plush appearance that many find irresistibly cute. It’s chosen for its gentle, natural look and for keeping the coat neat while preserving warmth and softness. The Kitten Clip is often preferred during cooler months or when a sweet, well-groomed style is desired without the close shave of a Lion Cut.
Recognized across Los Angeles and beyond for advanced feline grooming expertise, Catington Cat Grooming takes pride in understanding and delivering the look each person has in mind.
Teddy Bear Clip
The Kitten Clip is done with an attachment comb rather than a full shave. This method requires a full bath, blow-dry, and careful de-shedding to remove loose undercoat and prepare the coat for clipping. These steps are essential to allow the clippers to glide smoothly through the coat without pulling or causing discomfort. Once dry, the coat is trimmed to the preferred length, leaving it soft and plush instead of close-cut. During the consultation, the different coat lengths are demonstrated so you can see and decide which style you prefer. The legs are never shaved past the elbow line to protect the whiskers vital to a cat’s balance and awareness—a detail known to trained feline specialists.
All grooms at Catington Cat Grooming are fully inclusive — nails, ears, a bath with two shampoos to lift oils and dander, stud-tail treatment, gentle blow-dry, sanitary shave, paw-pad shave, and light trimming of pant legs or chest fur if desired. Only flea treatments incur an additional fee.
